Many of our clients have questions regarding the validity of charitable organizations. The IRS has a new on-line search tool called “Exempt Organizations Select Check” to help.
Clients can use the link below to search for:
- Organizations eligible to receive tax-deductible contributions
- Organizations whose federal tax exemption has been revoked for not filing a Form 990-series return for three consecutive years (Auto-Revocation List)
- Form 990-N filers
A search for eligible organizations may now be done by name or Employer Identification Number (EIN), and the Auto-Revocation List may be searched by EIN, name, city, state, ZIP code, country, and revocation posting date. The information is updated monthly.
