2018 Keiter Impact Award Winners
The 2018 Keiter Impact Award was given to Tax Senior Manager, John Murray, and Valuation and Forensic Services Senior Manager, Asif Charania. John and Asif were recognized for their collaboration on developing a model to address the Tax Cut and Jobs Act (TCJA), requiring an immense amount of attention to detail under a compressed timeline. As a result of their efforts, the Firm was able to truly serve as Opportunity Advisors to our clients helping them to navigate the complex tax changes. Their efforts have made a difference to not just one client but many.
John Murray, CPA
John has over ten years of experience in both the private and public accounting practice areas. He applies his experience to provide insights and identify opportunities for closely-held businesses in the real estate, healthcare, private equity, and government contracting industries. In addition, John has multi-state tax experience in which he plans for state franchise and capital taxes as well as sales & use taxes. He provides ongoing budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and compensation planning for many of his clients. In addition, John applies his expertise and knowledge in structuring transactions and reviewing proposed acquisitions in order to minimize the tax consequences for his clients. John is a member of the Firm’s Financial Services and Emerging Business and Technology industry teams.
Asif Charania, CPA/ABV/CFF, ASA
Asif is a Senior Manager in Keiter’s Valuation and Forensic Services Group. He has approximately nine years of experience in financial consulting services and specializes in valuation and forensic accounting, including financial investigations and litigation consulting services. He has served clients in a variety of industries including technology, financial, construction, healthcare, retail trade, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale, government contracting, and professional services.
In 2014, the Firm instituted the Keiter Impact Award, formerly known as the Lewis O. Hall Innovator of the Year Award. The award recognizes team members that are identifying opportunities and impacting change in the areas of client service, operations, business challenges, productivity, and firm culture.
