In January, we posted a blog explaining key sales tax changes in North Carolina affecting contractors.
The North Carolina Department of Revenue just released additional guidance on the issue which includes an easy reference chart that may assist contractors in determining whether they are required to collect the sales tax from their customers on their charges or must pay sales/use tax on their purchases.
Please note the disclaimer in the North Carolina Department of Revenue’s notice that the list is not specific tax advice and the application of the sales and use tax may differ based on the facts and circumstances of a particular transaction.
