Keiter Director Named as a Top 200 CPA by Forbes

Harold Martin recognized by Forbes as one of America’s Top 200 CPAs for 2024

Keiter is pleased to announce that Forbes has recognized Harold Martin in its inaugural list of America’s Top 200 CPAs for 2024Forbes considered CPAs from a variety of backgrounds, specializations and locations. The honorees were selected based upon certifications and credentials, years of experience, industry specialization, professional achievements, community involvement, thought leadership, client base and diversity, ethical and regulatory compliance, and innovation and technology adoption.

Harold Martin, CPA/ABV/CFF, ASA, CFE | KeiterHarold led Keiter’s Valuation and Forensic Services Practice for 26 years and also served on the Firm’s Executive Committee. He was responsible for developing Keiter’s VFS Practice into one of the premier specialized practices in the region and nationally. In 2023, Harold transitioned from Partner to Director and now primarily serves as a consultant. In addition to developing the VFS Practice and serving the Firm’s clients, he is proud of having mentored his successors, Asif Charania and Greg Saunders, as well as many staff over the years.

Harold is also an adjunct professor at The College of William and Mary Raymond A. Mason School of Business and has taught forensic accounting in the Master of Accounting program for 19 years. He has been very active as an alumnus and serves on the Board of Directors of the W&M Alumni Association.

He has strived to give back to the profession that enabled him to have a rewarding lifetime career and to “pay it forward” to the next generation. Towards that end, he has served as a volunteer and held leadership roles in national and state accounting organizations and educated other professionals in valuation and forensic accounting by teaching, writing, and speaking over the course of his 40-year career. He was inducted by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants into the Business Valuation Hall of Fame and is a two-time recipient of the AICPA Business Valuation Volunteer of the Year Award. He served on the AICPA Business Valuation Committee, chaired the AICPA National Business Valuation Conference Committee, and has served as an AICPA instructor for 28 years. He also served on the Virginia Society of Certified Public Accountants’ Board of Directors and chaired the Business Valuation and Litigation Services Committees. He created and chaired the VSCPA Forensic & Valuation Services Conference for 23 years.
