An Update on Keiter’s Business Valuation and Forensic Services Practice

The Valuation and Forensic Services (“VFS”) practice has been busy this fall with Seminars, CPE courses, interviews, articles, textbooks, and technical reviews.

In October, Harold Martin, Partner-in-Charge of VFS as featured in the Richmond Times Dispatch in an interview about a successful succession planning project that resulted in the sale of a large local transportation services company.

In late October, Harold made a presentation entitled “Business Valuations for Estate, Gift and Income Taxes” to the Estate Planning Council of Roanoke.  He also participated in several presentations at the VSCPA 16th Annual Business Valuation, Fraud, and Litigation Services Conference, including “How to Detect and Attack a Rigged Valuation” and “Business Valuation and Classification of Property for Equitable Distribution in Divorce.” Harold, along with VFS Managers Asif Charania and Josh Pruitt, also presented “Economic Damages for Business Litigations”

In November, Harold taught the AICPA Accredited in Business Valuation Exam Review Course in Las Vegas, Nevada.  He also served as a co-presenter of several presentations at the AICPA 2015 National Forensic and Valuation Services Conference also held in Las, Vegas.  His presentations included “Surviving Cross Examination,” “Income Approach I and II,” and “Valuation Case Study Q&A.”

Harold has also recently joined the editorial board of Business Valuation Update.
