Posted on 08.12.16
Partnership for the Future (PFF) helps motivated high school students with limited resources transition from high school to college and employment, so they can become successful, contributing members of our community.
We are pleased to be corporate partners with PFF and to have Justin Jackson working with us as a high school intern for the next three years.
Meet Justin Jackson:
Hermitage High School, Richmond, Virginia
Football, Hermitage High School Football—Panthers, Position-Center
Photography, Videogames (Madden and 2K16-Basketball), and Community Service (Athletic Boosters—concession stands, craft fairs for athletic program fundraising)
Who is your biggest role model?
My father 110%. He is teaching me to be the man I want to be. He takes the time to expose me to new things like art museums, jazz festivals, and community events. He works as a behavorial therapist.
How did you get involved in Partnership for the Future?
I heard about the program from a classmate. She told all the freshman about her experience and it peaked my curiosity. I spoke with my Mom about the program and she basically said I had no choice but to apply. I now know the reason why she was adamant on making me apply to Partnership for the Future. It definitely has its benefits including my internship with Keiter that I was so fortunate to receive.
What do you like about working at Keiter?
Everything to be honest. I have a variety of projects to work on with different departments. Also, I never go a morning without hearing someone saying good morning. I love the friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
Plans for the future:
In the future, I plan to attend the University of North Carolina and Major in Finance or Business Administration. I still have a few years of high school left so I'm keeping an open mind to other possibilities as well.
