As tax rates increase and common deductions are reduced or phased-out, looking for other outlets of tax savings is something that all taxpayers are paying more attention to now.
One area, in which there is an increased deduction, is in the design and construction of energy-efficient commercial buildings. Section 179D started several years ago and actually expired on December 31, 2013.
