The VMA hosted its Day on the Hill this week. “We had a wonderful turnout on a beautiful day with good feedback from attendees that it was a worthwhile use of time to help support the VMA and its political efforts. We want to thank all of the participants and encourage you to keep an eye out for next year’s Day on the Hill information so you too can join in the fun.
While the committee votes on VMA taxation priorities HB512 & SB549 – Machine & Tool Tax Reform and HB460 – Single Sales Factor Apportionment were delayed until Wednesday, February 8, key votes were taken this week on VMA Education priorities HB1061 & SB489 – adding bonus points for school accreditation based on the number of students earning industry credentials.
We still have hurdles to clear on Taxation priorities, so don’t forget to make your position known on these bills by calling your representatives and/or writing a letter of support for the Machine & Tool Tax reform bill via this template.
You may track legislation being monitored by the VMA anytime from our legislative action center at http://capwiz.com/vmaonline/home/ ”
