Business Assurance & Advisory Services Manager
Scott enjoys helping small and medium-sized firms navigate accounting and regulatory rules so business managers can focus on growing their company and serving their clients. He partners with businesses to assist them in complying with regulations and ensuring their financial information is accurate.
As a member of Keiter's Financial Services Industry group, Scott collaborates with other team members to solve complex client issues and identify business opportunities. He focuses on providing unique insights to a variety of financial services clients by assisting them with the complex rules and regulations that define that industry. His client base consists of broker/dealers, hedge funds, real estate funds, funds of funds and private equity funds. Scott also is a firm specialist on Custody Examinations for Registered Investment Advisors. Scott is a member of VSCPA and AICPA.
As a member of Keiter's Education Committee, Scott is dedicated on working with younger staff to help them get the training knowledge they need to become true “Opportunity Advisors” for their clients, as well as ensure our Firm maintains on the leading edge of new accounting and regulatory developments that affects our clients.
Outside the office, Scott enjoys cycling the Virginia Capital Trail, cooking, and playing soccer.
Since 2013, Scott has been the Treasurer of Rural Education and Community Health for Ghana (REACH 4 Ghana) a local not-for profit dedicated to providing health services and infrastructure projects to at-risk communities of the Volta region of Ghana.
In 2017, Scott joined Family Lifeline Young Professionals (“FLYP”). FLYP is Family Lifeline’s young professional council with a mission to develop and empower young professionals to assume leadership roles at work and in the community. The council works to cultivate support for Family Lifeline and its programs through volunteer, social, and fundraising activities. FLYP is comprised of young professionals between the ages of 23 to 40 who are dedicated to Family Lifeline’s work in the central Virginia community.
