Meet Scott

Scott has over 25 years of experience in public accounting, creating opportunities and providing risk advisory services to clients in numerous industries including, utilities, manufacturing, technology, and financial services. He leads the Firm’s Risk Advisory Services practice, which focuses on providing internal audits, cybersecurity and information technology consulting, Sarbanes-Oxley assistance and System and Organization Controls (SOC) exams. Scott focuses on providing his clients with cost effective solutions to build strong, efficient internal control systems/practices that support their strategic objectives.

Scott has assisted over 20 public registrants with their Sarbanes-Oxley compliance activities including developing implementation plans, performing scoping and materiality assessments, providing employee and management training, and coordinating documentation and testing efforts.

In 2021, Scott achieved the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) Registered Practitioner (RP) status in order to provide CMMC Services to Department of Defense prime and subcontractors. The CMMC Services that Scott provides include CMMC scoping, CMMC/NIST SP 800-171 gap analysis, development of Plan of Action & Milestones (POA&Ms).

Prior to joining Keiter, Scott was a manager in the Enterprise Risk Services group at Deloitte & Touche, LLP.

Scott is a Richmond native and spends his free time with his wife and three boys. Scott enjoys running, playing golf, and watching Hokie sports.
