You have:

  • The ability to direct and coordinate the various phases of an engagement including staff requirements, locations to be visited, job planning, and scheduling with the Partner.
  • The capacity to plan the logistics of an engagement, including the work to be performed by other departments.
  • The ability to study and evaluate the internal controls used by the client and prepare or review the work program and time budget (for subsequent approval by a Partner).
  • The expertise to evaluate working papers and determine that an engagement was performed in accordance with accepted auditing standards (or accounting principles).
  • The knack for evaluating audit risks and communicating potential risks to Partner.
  • The capacity to review, document, and evaluate internal controls.
  • Knowledge of tracking budget realization and overall time budgets.
  • Willingness to oversee audit, review, and/or compilation work programs and answer staff questions.
  • Knowledge of preparing or reviewing financial statements, notes, schedules, and management letters for later discussion with the Partner and client.
  • The willingness to serve as the main point of contact for multiple clients.
  • A passion for actively participating in the development of staff by training and offering constructive feedback through working paper reviews; direct performance review feedback and working with Partner group to determine staffing development areas
You might also have:
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in public accounting (or equivalent)
  • CPA license in good standing
  • Active Virginia Driver’s License
