Our Valuation and Forensic Services Practice is now in its 25th year and one of the largest practices in Virginia dedicated to providing these specialized services. Members of our team are certified by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as Certified Public Accountants and Certified in Financial Forensics, and by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners as Certified Fraud Examiners.

Members of our team have qualified as expert witnesses in U.S. District Court, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, and 21 circuit courts in five states, as well as before the American Arbitration Association and the National Association of Securities Dealers. We have also been named as experts in disputes subject to the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.

We have served as U.S. District Court-appointed forensic accountants, consultants for the U.S. Office of the Federal Public Defender, and court-appointed neutral business appraisers. We have also been retained by the U.S. Department of Justice as a consultant in litigation in the U.S. District Court.

About Jake T. Mathews

Jake T. Mathews is a Valuation and Forensic Services Senior Associate and lives in Clarksville, TN. He performs business valuations for the purposes of estate, gift, and income taxes; business and estate planning; marital dissolutions; goodwill impairment; asset impairment; stock-based compensation, transaction planning, and financial reporting. Jake also performs forensic accounting investigation, litigation consulting services, and has assisted with sell-side transaction advisory services. He is proficient in data analysis and performing complex financial modeling.

Jake has served clients in a variety of industries including, but not limited to financial services, real estate, professional services, clinical research, healthcare and physician practices, manufacturing, IT and software services, logistics and transportation, foodservice distribution, health care services, and construction.

Prior to moving to Tennessee, Jake worked at Keiter’s Virginia office.
