Job Details
Responsibilities During Engagement:
Oversee routine accounting functions and identify and lead value-added initiatives, including:
- Developing and monitoring proper accounting controls to ensure accuracy.
- Rationalizing the chart of accounts.
- Preparing monthly financial statements while shortening the close cycle.
- Conducting reconciliations and quarterly balance sheet reviews.
- Properly preparing accruals and accounting for inventory and capital investments.
- Improving adherence to GAAP.
- Processing standard tax filings.
- Creating actionable financial reports and cash flow analysis.
- Streamlining the AP approval process.
- Eliminating waste and reducing the risk of fraud.
- Identifying true costs and profitability by product/service and customer.
- Assisting with acquisition integrations and divestitures.

Experience
Preferred:
- Preferred: Accounting or Finance degree.
- CPA is a plus but not mandatory.
- 7+ years of Public or Corporate accounting experience.
- Held a position as a Controller or Assistant Controller (Corporate role) or a Manager/Director/Partner (Public accounting role).
- Experience with QuickBooks, Sage, or similar general ledger systems.
- Highly proficient with Excel.
- Strong technical accounting and financial skills.
- Demonstrated success as a leader.
- Coachable and personable.
- Strategic and forward-thinking.
- Action-oriented.
