The Art of Connections in Career Development

Connecting with Accounting Majors

Connecting with accounting majors to develop their careers is a top priority for our HR team and reflects Keiter’s core value of building relationships.  We have recently enhanced our campus involvement to include more programming focused on current career path needs. This effort is to support college students and recent graduates who are preparing the transition from student to entry-level associate.

We understand that starting a new career can be stressful. In an effort to alleviate this stress, we focus on connecting with accounting majors throughout their educational journey.  We want everyone joining Keiter, or pursuing a career in public accounting, to know that we are here to answer their questions and concerns.

Connecting through Career Development Programs

Programming is an important part of our effort to support accounting majors so they can have a strong start to their career in public accounting.  Our recent offerings included in-person and virtual sessions through various university and association level events throughout Virginia. Through these events, and curated career articles, our team has shared tips and advice on how to make the most of the interview process, how to have a successful and meaningful internship experience, and how to connect and build relationships as a new member of a team.

The most popular sessions were our resume review and career guidance to prepare students interacting with industry professionals.

Connecting with Future Keiter Opportunity Advisors

For those who are beginning their careers at Keiter in the future, we’ve provided them with a road map on how to excel in their career.  We are proud to have fostered an environment of learning that encourages questions, seeking feedback, and using that information to continuously improve.  Through these efforts, we have not only introduced them to our culture, but also showed them why Keiter is their firm for a career in accounting and feel further connected to the Keiter team.

This Spring, one of our outreach efforts was a midterm care package filled with items to support students as they prepared for their exams.  This included snacks, notebooks, and Keiter branded items, delivered directly to them. This is one example of how Keiter supports accounting majors to successfully navigate their educational journey and let them know we are thinking of them.
