Keiter Cares
Community Day is Keiter’s annual firm-wide event, where all our team members are encouraged to leave the office, and support our local Richmond community through volunteering. Teams of volunteers to dedicated their Friday to over 14 different charities, projects, and foundations.
On behalf of the entire Keiter team, thank you to all of our nonprofit organizations that have continued to help Richmond and surrounding communities in small and big ways!
This year we dedicated time and resources to a variety of causes and organizations, including:
Knowledge and Resource Sharing
Keiter team members dedicated time to educating youth to improve personal financial literacy for high school students at Junior Achievement Finance Park.
Team members renovated houses for Habitat for Humanity and prepped donated furniture for re-sale at Habitat Restore.
15 volunteers assembled literacy kits for United Way of Greater Richmond & Petersburg, as well as made holiday cards, and organized donated books for Charitable Souls Foundation.
A group of Keiter team members also volunteered at Soar365, who help build and employ individuals with disabilities.
Keiter volunteers at the Faison Center helped build welcoming decorations for residents and holiday cards for donors.
Donating and Preparing Food
Keiter volunteers prepared 30 lunches of love with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Richmond.
Another group volunteered in the local community kitchen at Feed More.
Tax Senior Associate, Janet Snellings, organized 4 full thanksgiving meals for families in need during the holiday season for “Operation Drumstick”, Good Samaritan Ministries.
Keiter team members helped Tablespoons Bakery set up for their largest fundraising event of the year, the Great RVA Bake-off.
Volunteering Outdoors
Over 20 Keiter employees volunteered with Keep Virginia Cozy to clean up over 215 pounds of litter from Belle Isle and the James River.
Another team of ten planted flower bulbs and trimmed down brush at Maymont Foundation.
