Supporting our community through challenging times
The holiday season is upon us, and we are mindful that this time of year may pose extra challenges for children and families negatively impacted by the pandemic, the economic downturn, and other challenges.
This year, Keiter is making a special monetary contribution to two nonprofit organizations that help to support children adversely impacted by the physical and mental health challenges and/or economic challenges faced by their caregivers. Neighborhood Resource Center (NRC Fulton) and Stop Child Abuse Now (SCAN) are making a profound difference in the Richmond community in this focus area.
Together, we can make a difference
We would greatly appreciate our clients and friends to partner with us in supporting the community this holiday season by donating or volunteering time to NRC Fulton, SCAN, or another worthy local nonprofit.
About NRC Fulton
NRC Fulton is a 501c(3) organization created to provide resources to the residents of the Greater Fulton area. Through their advocacy programs, this organization helps the residents of Greater Fulton make positive changes within their community. Four components that this organization focuses on are education, nutrition, the financial opportunity center, and community organization.
The organization has out of school education programs for K-12 children. Additionally, they provide food outreach programs to the community such as cooking classes and nutrition education. The financial opportunity center serves as a place where residents can receive job placement and financial training services. Community organizing is advocated through outreach and revitalization initiatives to provide residents with access to the services they need the most. You can join us in support of NRC Fulton through helping us fund cooking classes, provide food pantry bags to households, or supporting youth engagement.
About Greater Richmond SCAN
Greater Richmond SCAN is a local nonprofit organization that works to prevent and treat child abuse and neglect in the greater Richmond area. SCAN focuses on providing awareness, support, treatment, and education to create a community for children that cares about their safety. This is done through their many programs such as The Circle Preschool Program, Family Support Program, Richmond Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) and The Child Advocacy Center.
- The Child Advocacy Center works to promote improvements within the investigation of cases of sexual abuse or severe physical abuse involving children.
- The Circle Preschool program helps to prepare children who have experienced early trauma for long-term educational and social success by providing early childhood education and trauma treatment.
- The Family Support Program assists caregivers with protecting and nurturing their children through treatment and education groups.
- Richmond CASA works to place children who have suffered from abuse or neglect in safe permanent homes by recruiting volunteers to advocate for them.
You can join us in support of SCAN by volunteering, donating, or picking up some of the items on our wish list for the children.
