2023 Keiter Community Day

Keiter Cares

Community Day is Keiter’s annual firm-wide event, where all our team members are encouraged to leave the office and support our local Richmond community through volunteering. Teams of volunteers dedicated time throughout the month of November to over 14 different charities, projects, and foundations.

On behalf of the entire Keiter team, thank you to all of our nonprofit organizations that have continued to help Richmond and surrounding communities in small and big ways!

This year we dedicated time and resources to a variety of causes and organizations, including:

Knowledge and Resource Sharing

Keiter team members dedicated time to educating youth to improve personal financial literacy for high school students at Junior Achievement Finance Park.

Volunteers made holiday cards and organized donated books for Charitable Souls Foundation.

A group of Keiter team members also volunteered at Soar365, an organization committed to building a world where people with disabilities play, work, socialize and thrive as part of their local community.

Keiter team members assembled support kits for the unhoused via Project Helping.

Donating and Preparing Food

Keiter volunteers prepared lunches of love with Ronald McDonald House Charities of Richmond. After the meals were prepped, they were taken directly to VCU Children’s Hospital for lunchtime.

Another group packaged holiday meals for the local community kitchen at Feed More.

Tax Senior Associate, Janet Snellings, organized 5 full Thanksgiving meals for families in need during the holiday season for “Operation Drumstick”, Good Samaritan Ministries.

Volunteering Outdoors

Twenty-two Keiter employees volunteered with Keep Virginia Cozy to clean up over 114 pounds of litter from Belle Isle.

Another team of ten planted flower bulbs and trimmed down brush at Maymont Foundation.

Three groups of Keiter team members volunteered at Goochland Cares to paint new lines in the parking lot for access to the food pantry, stock the food pantry, and sort through donated clothing and household items.

Mandy Nevius, Human Resources Director, helped to clean six yards for people in her church community, the St. Peter’s United Methodist Church (SPUMC).
