Keiter honored for internship program
Keiter has been presented with the honor of being a nationally recognized Top 100 Internship Program in 2024, presented by WayUp and Yello. The award is presented on July 25, 2024, coinciding with National Intern Day, a day set aside to celebrate and champion the next generation of business professionals. Keiter joins companies like North Grumman, Boeing, Lumen who have previously earned designations on this Top 100 list.
This award is determined by public voting and a panel of industry experts who consider many different aspects of the internship program. “Hundreds of employers submitted exceptional nominations for their programs this year and getting a spot on the Top 100 list was extremely competitive,” said Dan Bartfield, CEO at Yello.
“Small but Mighty”
Among over 500 other nominated companies and organizations, Keiter was uniquely recognized to receive the specialty award of “Small but Mighty,” one of only five specialty awards available through this program. This singular award is given to an organization with less than 1,000 employees and has demonstrated an exceptional internship experience. Our extensive onboarding process, hands-on development opportunities, industry and soft-skill training, and immersive activities like a helicopter ride around Richmond, VA helped us stand out in this category.
What makes Keiter’s internship special
Our Nationally recognized Internship program takes place in the spring, during the tax busy season, and in the summer, which allows for interns to experience both tax and audit. Within both of our intern sessions, our goal is for interns to be immersed in the accounting industry, working alongside partners, managers, and associates, receiving real-world experience through the projects assigned.
“Our team has spent years enhancing our internship program so that we could provide students with an opportunity to grow professionally, network with peers and mentors in the industry, and have fun. These awards demonstrate how Keiter is leading the way in the public accounting field.” – Mandy Nevius, MBA, SPHR, Director of Human Resources
Throughout the internship our interns also experience the many sights and attractions of Richmond, Virginia. Some of these events include a cruise down the canal, a trip to Kings Dominion, and connecting with each other at local small businesses like River City Roll and NES Cornhole Lounge.
We have many intern success stories, some have reached partner within Keiter, while others have been able to find their passion within the industry.
